Frequently asked

Is 'peptide therapy' the same as a GLP-1 programme?

Not necessarily, and the distinction matters. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are peptides, so a GLP-1 programme is peptide therapy — but the term is also used for sermorelin, BPC-157, ipamorelin and others, which have far less evidence and in some cases no approved product at all. If a practice advertises peptide therapy for weight loss, ask exactly which molecule is being prescribed before assuming it is a GLP-1.
